Orphaned Man Helping Orphans
Joshua Mbogoli, orphaned at a young age, takes good care of the orphaned youth under his care and those in his village. He raises funds for their food, education, and general well-being. Having had fairly long discussions with Joshua, it has become apparent that he not only desires to provide for these children materially, but also with great care - genuine love. He asks deep...

Grinding Sorghum Into Flour To Make Drink - UGANDA
I was grinding sorghum making flour from it that is used to make Local porridge(ubushera), which is commonly drank instead of water because of how hard it is to get good water in Uganda. The saying in Uganda goes, "Give water to your enemy, but sorghum to...

Motorcycles: The "Semi-Trucks" of Uganda
The motorcycle, specifically the Baha brand, is the semi-truck and railroad of Uganda. From being used to carry up to 4 (perhaps more?) passengers at once, to transporting a huge bundle of groceries (5+ft above the bike), to transporting agricultural goods, these motorcycles are used to do...

(The following letter has undergone minimal editing so as to bring greater clarity to the reader, but also to remain consistent with the education, culture, and message of its Ugandan author. English is spoken and written different there to some degree. For example: During my visit in Uganda, I saw many barbershops that were incorrectly named, "Saloon" instead of "Salon". I've also commonly seen Ugandans use the word "pattern" when they meant "partner" (when they desire to partner with someone in ministry). I believe that this is commonly taught incorrectly in Uganda. While English is the second language in Uganda, many incorrect words like this are commonplace there due to the various levels of education of the populace.)

A Letter From Their Founder:
OUR FIRST AND FOREMOST PRIORITY:
Spreading the love of God. We work with native Ministers to discover the specific needs of their communities. We strive to apply the word of God in the communities based on those needs. We provide Bibles to those who are interested in learning more about Jesus. We promote Jesus as the way to Heaven. We Give Hope to those who lost Hope in Uganda.

OTHER SERVICES WE ARE PROVIDING TO SUPPORT THOSE IN NEED:
1. ORPHANAGE CARE:
We run Hope in Christ Children's Family, an orphanage located in Kamuli village, Eastern Uganda. We currently care for 35 children (some children are totally orphaned and some are semi-orphaned.) We have three staff members.
2. EDUCATION:
At Hope in Christ children's family, we provide for our children's educational needs by covering school supplies, tuition, and uniforms.
3. NUTRITION:
Malnutrition is a major problem in Uganda. We provide food (a balanced diet) for the entire children's home and help out on an emergency basis when needs arise among other vulnerable people in our communities like serious sickness and natural calamity. We also give food to the elderly and vulnerable people in our community. "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. (Mathew 25:35-36).
4. HEALTH CARE:
We work with native doctors and nurses or village health Team in remote villages where access to health care is difficult to treat children. We also provide transportation to the nearest local hospitals in case of emergency.
5. CLOTHING:
We give clothes to our children and other needy children in our community.
6. CHARITY WORK:
We carry out community work together like cleaning and repairing the community well since we don't have one.
7. ACCOMMODATION: We lodge our children. We are currently renting, but have a very strong belief and hope that God will provide land for us of which we can construct a new orphanage home, carry on growing our own food, and become self-sufficient.
